Perdi in MH and DFH in OH is still the way to go. Do not put a perditions in offhand unless ur mainhand is +60 dps (and by then I hope you have a dagger with better stats)

I agree that it is rare, if ever that the perditions should be in your off hand. However, I believe that for an off hand the CHT still holds its own when paired with a Perdi. This is the setup I have used for some time and see no reason to change at least until BC. It is faster with lower DPS than the Perdi, hence its off hand position, and its added stats are a nice touch as well.

Perdition's Blade is an item out of place. The iLevel for this dagger is 77, not until Chromaggus will a rogue get a shot at such a powerful weapon (Chromatically Tempered Sword). For dagger rogues, your next upgrade is Blessed Qiraji Pugio from AQ40, so by all means, grab this dagger if you have the chance. You will not regret the decision.

Perdition's Blade is one of the best daggers still in game but now it is kind of out of place since the Grand Marshal Daggers and High Warlord are easyer to get but if u dont like to PvP and have a guild that can do Rangnaros this is the best item around if you cant get into a BWL guild.

The only reason I would ever consider putting this in my offhand would be if I was speccing for mutilate. Other than that, this is mainhand or bank. It is currently in my mainhand until I acquire a Grand Marshal's Dirk.

Hah, picked this up on a run for bindings the other night. My warriors still only 66, and I've been arms up until now (thus ignoring one handers in general), but I'm considering respeccing fury and main handing a brutality blade while offhanding this.

While I dont completely agree that it is stricktly a rogue dagger (even though i am a rogue), the truth is that this is one of the most intelligent comments I have read in this forum because it shows REALITY. There is never gonna be a successful pickup MC raid and any guild or raid leader good enough to be successful in MC is going to know better than to let anyone but a melee class role on this. not all melee classes would be suited for this, but this would be an absolute waste in the hands of a ranged class.

Those of you arguing the point that this dagger can be rolled by anyone simply becuase its dagger and that would be fair, should still be in Kindergarten, where everthing is fair, magical and having an accident in you pants is ok. Grow up dumb asses. Life is not fair. Rogues are better with daggers then any other class in the game hence they should have priority on the roll, with exception to daggers that are obviously for casters.

If you are still 5 yrs old and dont understand the logic, allow me to explain... slowly.

In order to kill Rags your guild needs to be highly organized, well disciplined and each raid member, 1-40, needs to know their job and excute it almost flawlessly. So what this means is your argument is moot. Because if a guild/raid leader would allow casters/warriors/hunters to roll for a dagger such as this, chances are your guild will never see Rags and probably has a hard time clearing Scholo.

Pick Up raids you say? They are likely to never be successful with Rags and if so would have to follow the above logic to even have a remote chance.

I know the truth hurts. Perhaps after your nap we can finger paint your character eating an orange slice, while playing mother may I in Ironforge.

Tho if your not a PvP person like me, Yes this is the 2nd best thing. It rocks. Also, every rogue in our raid has this, SO it a warrior (fury specced) got it next time round. I duno why he wanted, maybe coz it was fast?

ANYWAY, This dagger is rogues first pick every time. Best in main-hand, Off-hand is for stats, eg. Core Hound Tooth

This Dagger is quite good, It's realistically tied for second place with the Dragonfang Blade (it's actually not as high on an AEP basis, but weapons don't scale on AEP very realistically). If you don't count the Grand Marshall's/High Warlord's weapons, this is tied as the first best available.

I got mine yesterday, and am quite pleased as a lvl 60 rogue.

The important thing to me, isn't who gets what, so much as that everyone in the guild needs to have opportunity to get great gear. I have seen some awesome gear drop, and I am always genuinely happy when I see that, win, lose, upgrade, or not, because it makes my guild stronger, and better able to handle the ever tougher encounters Blizzard works so hard to provide.

In the end, I think that there are a lot of weapons that are better for one class than another, If you have a good guild, you will see the things that are going to make you better sooner or later, DKP is DKP, if you don't like your guild policy on who gets to bid and who doesn't, then leave.

Who ever said rogues are useless at Ragnaros, either you never been in Ragnaros fight or you got other classes geared up great. Our 4 rogues does approx 35-40% of all dmg in that fight.. and yes we can kill it without even first sons spawning.

You can have a Nice or bad top damage and still make high crits.

But there are other factors in the picture :

1. Attack power. Increase your top damage.
2. Enchant. Got a +3,4 or 5 damage on? damn helps.

If you want max damage on backstab and ambush, take a +5 damage. It's lot better then a +15 agility.

It's not only the dagger that says your damage :

Weapon Dmg + Attack power = The score.

I am a guild leader. When our guild is doing Mc and BWL stuff i always put on Master looter, like other ppl do when they are doing high lvl instances. And i will NEVER let a hunter or a tank bid on this and if i would it will go to them if ONLY and i repeat ONLY when all rogues have this or got something better.Even then it will go to a fury tank. Never letting a hunter have this unless all the other ppl got it I'm #$%^ing tierd of u hunters saying: omfg this sooooo cool i need it would roll for it at once even if there is a rogue in grp. Well guess what u CANT roll on this cuz u are doing a guild run and u ALWAYS have master looter and second of all this is a melee wep.Are hunters melee ppl?NO . Don't u think there is a reason why rogues cant use axes and 2h swords or polerarms?. To all u hunters out there this would be like if some dude bids his dkp on Striker's Mark. Would u like that? NO u wouldnt. So stfu and get ur self something that aint a melee wep!
Point being rogues first then Warriors then maybe hunters. I my self am a hunter.

This thing procs like crazy! I would have to say atleast 1 out of 3 times if not 1 out of 2. But you know what the beauty of the proc is? It is AOE!

Notice it says "blasts *A* target" and not "blasts -the- target". The proc will hit your target or an adjacent target.

I love this dagger. Even though I only have 1 piece of tier 1 and 1 piece of tier 2 armor, this definitely makes up for it. I can pull 1800+ ambushes and 1000+ backstabs. I also have felstriker in OH, and when that procs the damage is just sickening. I get a lot of crying complaints from silly alliance.

All sorts of classes tried rolling on it when it dropped off rag, but thank god our general is not an idiot like some people that play this game and would only let a rogue take it.

If anybody knows of someone that gets this dagger over a rogue, please post their name here so I can spam them as a ninja all over the forums.

Also: the screenshot posted for this dagger sucks total ass. For starters it's on a retarded gnome, and secondly it doesn't show the glow/ smoke.

All the guilds that raid MC and above have DKP. Also all the guilds that can raid MC and above have people with common sense. This means that no hunter/warrior/mage/shaman/whatever will even try to roll need for this dagger before all the rogues had it. Even then the only other class that could benefit slightly would be a dps warrior but they already get better alternatives when it comes to OH weapons because perdi is a bit too fast to build rage with equipped as an MH and even more lacks the damage that you could get from a Vis cag or similar.

Overall Perdition's is and will remain a rogue milestone and a superb weapon. The rest of the comments about better daggers etc are obsolete and probably written by people equipping nothing better than a julie's dagger...

Okay, here's the score:

Fury warriors who roll on this are stupid. And so are their guilds if they give it to fury warriors over rogues. You're much better off with Deathbringer, Spineshatter, Cho'Grush, etc. Not only would you be a fool to spend DKP on this sharpened turd, you'd screw the overall guild DPS, and any half decent raid leader would know this.
Last I checked, fury doesn't include an attack that does dagger weapon damage +180%, +30%crit, +crit bonuses from two talent trees. And no, you wouldn't generate rage faster. gg.

Examining the situation further, this is the best weapon a rogue can get until halfway through AQ40 (It's equal to Chromatically Tempered Sword, and Claw of the Black Drake, and only until Ancient Qiraji Ripper and especially Blessed Qiraji Pugio do they start getting better. And even then, Perd's max damage eclipses the Pugio's, and since it's slower than the Pugio you get more end weapon damage from AP. The only thing that's really a step up from Perd is Death's Sting off C'thun.) So that said, why would a warrior deprive a rogue from the best weapon he can get until WAY after Nef when warriors have: (Untamed Blade, Spineshatter, Drake Talon Cleaver, Claw of the Black Drake, Chromatically Tempered Sword, Deathbringer, Vis'Kag, Ashkandi) on the horizon?

Hunters? ROFL WTF? I assume whoever originally posted on this as a hunter weapon meant it as a joke, because "every weapon is a hunter weapon." (Again, most desirable hunter weapons are Core Hound Tooth, Fang of the Faceless and Silithid Claw.)

It would be an awesome melee-warlock weapon. This is the only instance in which I would support another class over a rogue. Warlocks tear it up, man.

In all seriousness, this dagger should be rogue-only. I don't think I've ever seen another class stupid enough to roll on it, and once all the rogues in my guild have it it will probably wind up getting DE'd. No fury warrior in my guild would waste their time with this.

So I just ran my first raid after obtaining this wonderful dagger. Figured I'd come and report on how often i experienced the proc occuring.

Over a period of 100 minutes in combat, it procced 280 times, doing an average of 48 dmg. So that's a 2.8 proc/min proc rate. Of those 280 procs, it missed 21 times (7.5% miss rate). So it hit with a rate of 2.59 hits/min. At an average of 48 dmg, that's (48 dmg/hit) x (2.59 hits/min) = 124.3 dmg/min. (124.3 dmg/min)/(60 sec/min) = 2.07 dmg/sec.

So essentially the proc adds an extra (approx) 2 dps to the weapon, making the dagger have an overall 60.3 dps. (Note: this does not take into account any resists to the fire damage.)

In case you were wondering, I used the Recap addon for these stats.

Lol im sucha nerd for doing this but i tried to find as much +spelldamage and spell crit as possible.... just to see how high of a crit i could get from this dagger i got along time ago (well the dagger PROC i guess). So essentially i picked up alot of "of the invoker" things and the highest spell crit fromm this was a 200 on some hellboar outside honor hold. Had to do something our arena leader was doing some vacation thing and we had like a week before any matches... i thought about just finding a random group of guys to do it but i was bored of REAL things so i thought id do this.... all and all it took about 2 hours and cost about 138g (including repairs) so it wasn't too bad. :P

Anyway guess that's all i wanted to post

ok this is coming from a fury warrior, it is beyond impossible to even hit a 9k hit even with all my talents and cooldowns up and a full rage criting execute, my highest hit ive seen was a 7034, bloodthirst +100% dmg enrange +40% dmg deathwish +20% dmg and bloodfury +25% base attack power. not that bloodfury does anything for execute, a heroic strike crit my highest is only 3943 with all of the timers on as well, im sorry there is no way to hit a 9k ever and from what ive seen fury warriors hit the highest, unless ive missed some class spec correct me if im wrong

Well we killed ragnaros recently and one of our guild's rogues got the Perditon's Blade - Perdition's Blade we decided we'd do some testing with it and see just how good it is. We tested it against the Barman Shanker, and the Core Hound Tooth - Core Hound Tooth which I have both of.

We started off doing ambush tests and backstab tests obviously just to see where we would be and here are some results.

Blade:Ambush= 900-1500 on avg during a crit
Shanker:Ambush= 900-1300 on avg during a crit
Blade:Backstab=800-1100 on avg during a crit
Shanker:Backstab=800-950 on avg during a crit

Now some things to point out are that I have upwards of 720 Attack Power putting me at about 154-198 damage range with the shanker and the guild mate with the Perditon's Blade only has 500 or so attack power but he is still sitting at a good 160-215 base damage range.

So here are what i'd like to bring up. I don't really see the Parditon's Blade as that much of a huge upgrade. I'm going to be working at getting him the top attack power gear so we can see how much of a difference it will make. After about 2 hours of testing we came to this conclussion: The parditon's blade only gives you 100-200 extra damage but it seems to be far more steady in its damage rate. When he would crit backstab and ambush it would almost always be 1000-1400 with both when it would crit.

We'll be doing more tests when he has about the same gear as I do and post them here. Post any feedback you have as this is somewhat of an interesting find considering a level 50 blade which see's the best upgrades from Attack Power is keeping up with a 58.3 dps end game dagger with a max damage of 137.

I dont think anyone here has seen the benefits of a dagger to a Warrior. If a warrior is fury specced instead of arms he/she will have Bloodthirst, which is based on attack power, instead of Mortal Strike, which is based on weapon damage. For Bloodthirst, it doesn't matter how hard your weapon hits because the damage it deals has absolutely nothing to do with it, in fact, a faster weapon is preferrable because Bloodthirst also replenishes health for the next 5 hits afterwards and so a faster weapon would mean faster health regen. The truth is, a fury specced warrior with dual wield crusader enchanted daggers would be very hard to kill because he would be healing himself for 100hp every 6 seconds alone on just Bloodthirst. With the crusader procs he would be healing himself for even more. This health regen added to the amount of life, armor, and damage a warrior already has/does and you can see why this is just as much a rogue weapon as a warrior weaopn.

Fast offhand is the way to go. You want it fast for more chances to proc poison, and so it hits faster with just normal attacks.

the current ideal offhand is Core Hound Tooth, but you aren't doing Molten Core, something like Scarlet Kris, or Finkle'e Skinner are great offhands.

in fact it adds a little dmg, but not really that big amount someone would expect.
thats the bad (only for those who are well equipped of course ;P) thing about rogue styles. nearly every style has its big base dmg component so that the real weapon dmg doestn count that much

the only think that really counts is speed. the proc actually apears surprisingly often, if my Vis'kag would only proc that often then i d be really happy :)

I'm in a guild perfectly capable of killing Vaelstrasz and Ragnaros. Here comes the obvious question - Perdition's Blade or Dragonfang Blade?

I've looked at both aspects (PvE and PvP, which I do a lot of). Right now, I could get one, but not the other until much later. Right now, I'm thinking whatever comes first because Perdition's Blade, yes has more DPS and damage, however lacks passive stats. 47 damage proc? Lame.

PvE - Is it better to have the 12 stam which may keep you alive a bit longer?
- Is it better to do more damage and DPS?

PvP - Same as above I guess.

I've got friends in the top guild on my server, they were just finishing a night in AQ and wanted to top it off with something fun, so they invited me to go to MC with them. It was amazing going with T2/T3 epic'd out players. We do a clear of the last 6 bosses (including rag) in about 1:30 (the first 4 were done in a guild-run pug the night before.)

So this pops out, and the one rogue who wanted it passed cos he could get better stuff elsewhere. I'm one happy rogue :)

This dagger is also awesome for a warrior who isnt prot spec at all, im a 60 warrior with the spec of 31/20/0 and this dagger WTFPWNZ the Quel'Serrar...its fast speed makes rage build up hella fast, you can pretty much spam Heroic Strike nonstop, and as all warriors know, Sunder is instant with like a 1second cooldown, this dagger also beats the $%^& outa Vael in BWL cause of its speed, its way better then the Claw off of Magmadar in MC. and also the instant DD proc it has would help with tanking also....slap a Crusader on this and the warrior is gettin healed from 4 sources...priest/paladin/druid/and the crusader proc....not to mention the 100str from the enchant helps with tanking and dmg.

I got the perdition's blade today put a +4 dmg also on it went outside IF dueled a mage and 2 hit him. 1.8k ambush 1.5k backstab and wus gone. This dagger is the best until naxx/AQ40 in DPS but in top end damage only a couple daggers out do this high end damage.

this proc isn't only awful.. it's a joke..
it doesn't proc, it doesn't crit, it doesn't do anything at all because most mobs in MC are damn resistent to fire.

The blade really kicks ass.. got mine yesterday from our first ragnaros kill. But this proc is a shame.. I want fatal wounds with 200 damage.. that would rock, not these 50 hp every 30 seconds.. my 2 of 3 stormshroud set bonus did more damage than that Perditions proc

definetly got it tonight and yes it is the best dagger until AQ40 and Naxx because its the hardest hitting until the better instances.. causing it to be the best dagger rogue main hand weapon. BAM im rockin that main hand and FOF offhand.

Even this late in the game this is one of the better top end daggers. Thought is isn't totally amazing like it was when Rag first fell, this dagger rocks.

I don't know you but I have 46.9 DPS from Attack Power.

According to the way game mechanics works, here's the final BASE damage of every single strike:

57-107+1.6*46.9=132-182 (Core Hound Tooth)
54-101+1.7*46.9=134-181 (Felstriker)
51-95 +2.0*46.9=145-189 (Shanker)
63-119+1.8*46.9=147-203 (Gutgore Ripper
73-137+1.8*46.9=157-221 (Perdition)
79-120+2.0*46.9=173-214 (High Warlord's Razor)

Sorted in order of best-mainhand dagger. Best off-hander so far being Core Hound Tooth.

ANYWAY, THIS IS MOST DEFINATLY A HUNTER WEAPON

if any hunter in my guild ever rolled over a rogue that still needed this he'd be /punted from the guild. no explanation needed.

Yeah lol im an undead rogue >< I regret making an undead rogue i'd prefer an orc for the resistance or troll for berserking. Same on my server but it's like that with every class. Most every mage has their stuff too and all priests with benediction. Yet somehow i get by without complaining about it lol. It's no biggy. Dagger is rly nice and more obtainable than say the NAxx or pugo for most guilds. Although the lack of stats >< and i wouldn't put +5dmg on it. I'd put either 15 agil or Crusader. Just what i'd do :)

Today at approximately 3:30pm me and my friends went on a hunt... just a normal item hunt (what we didnt know is that this baby would be mine). After our 10 priests did their deads and kept most of us alive and well we had killed him! And i got this *!@#$ alond with Teebu's Blazing Longsword on some random guy in MC... Thank the lord of jesus christ my crit. right now did 9084 dmg good luck horde bring it on! WOOHOO

how's the proc rate on it?
with a proc damage that low I could easily see this as having a crazily high proc rate

of course you do, you are a hunter! no need for rogues really! This is just the best dagger in the game for a rogue and hunters sux in melee! ........... stfu and get a weapon that supports your range attacks instead

You guys are nuts, its proc does not blow. Its low damage but it procs like crazy and it adds up WAY WAY WAY more damage then my GGR ever thought of doing. Do a damage parse before you flame the proc.

Perdition's blade isn't a 3 damage diff it's 7, and if for some reason you chose +5 wep damage it would almost be same damage as HW daggers, 1 damage less, and 12 stamina wont make a difference between getting your ass kicked or vice versa, if the fight comes down to wether or nto you have 12 stamina, that other player or mob or what ever is as good as you. And while I am posting I have a question, how often does this proc, about as much as fiery?

2.0 speed would make it a ton better, and its proc blows, but of course it's still a great dagger.

High Warlord's Razor / Grand Marshal's Dirk is much better, but it's also a lot more difficult to get and maintain.

I'll be happy when I get mine, not a single gutgore ripper has dropped for us so far..

Why the hell would a warrior want to heal himself over making tons of dmg with a 300 dmg 2 hand weapon?........................................

I mean, you know there is 3 healer classes for alliance or horde...

healing urself ~130hp/6 seconds < 3000k heal from a druid or priest... I don't seem to understand your logic.

If you want to ^&*! around in pvp, well maybe you should get to high warlord and buy all the weapons and then play around as much as you want !

Was disenchanted on our last kill, even though a Rogue Twink was present. Like the old Bonereaver, this weapon needs a serious buff, like a more powerful proc and some stats.
