The real question is, does this benefit from spell damage gear like Cloak of Fire used to, if so this is the ultimate Faxmonkey item- get loads of mobs to attack you, pop this, ice block and watch the immense damage.

it's not affected by spelldmg and the dmg is dealt when a mob hits you - like retribution aura

I used to use this for tanking Fankriss adds in AQ40. Man, this trinket could pump out a heap of damage with all those bugs hitting you.

Improved Retribution Aura + This + Improved Thorns + That thing that drops from Ragnaros + Crystal Spire = 113 damage every time someone strikes you with a melee attack. And that isn't even everything you can have at once.

I got this on my 11/25/16 Pally yesterday. At first I was like, meh.. but after using it in Stockades, this thing rocks. It has more uses of course, but the one who posted a few above me is right: Stack a lot reflective damage and becomes deadly

spent a bit of dkp on it thinking that it would give this crazy awsome visual, as soon as i saw it, i was thinking tank, non said they would bid on it so the crazy hunter trinket *!@#$ took a stab, what a waste, looks like thorns and I'm out some well erned dkp lol.

Dropped for guild last night.

Druid bought it for crap dkp just so that he use this and thorns at the same time. No one else wanted it; waste of a trinket slot. It and thorns have the same animation.

3 minute cooldown.

If you are a mage or warlcok (as me) and want to do aoe, where you know you will get aggro, this trinket can be great. Small bugs getting ~40dmg every hit (+damage gear counted) can get killed of severely injured because of this trinket. Plus the power of imp shield, ouch.
I have never seen it, but it surely good for me for (a not so big amount of) DKP.

This item is useful for tanking on the Fankriss adds in AQ40. Using it along with the trinket from Ragnaros means you can kill off the hatchlings while tanking them, allowing the tanks at the three spawn points to survive easier. It even helps to hold aggro on them - as soon as you have the slightest bit of aggro they will start building more aggro by hitting you.
Combine with a druid thorns buff for total bug pwnage.

Tested today on Classic.

Deals 25 to 26 nature damage to the enemy when they hit you
Deals no damage on a miss, dodge, or parry (I can't test with shield blocks)
Spellpower has no effect at all on the damage (tested with 592 spellpower)

I found this incredibly useful for low level zone AOE farms on my Priest. I used 4/8 T0.5 (Vestments of the Virtuous) for the shield proc bonus (2% chance, no ICD) and Shadowform/Power Word: Shield to pull big packs, and then I'd cancel Shadowform and start spamming Holy Nova.

Cats have an attack speed of 1.0, so this trinket can deal a maximum of 750 damage to any amount of cats attacking you. Most mobs seem to have a 1.5 or 2 second swing timer, meaning the trinket can deal a maximum of 500 or 375 damage per attacker respectively. Raw spell damage modifiers do not affect the trinket, but percentage modifiers such as Arcane Power, Stormstrike and Sayge's Dark Fortune of Damage do.

Since the AOE spell is so mana-intensive, I wanted a little extra AOE damage without wasting that precious resource, so I used Fetish of Chitinous Spikes + Oil of Immolation together typically. Cloak of Fire I didn't consider worthwhile, as it only does 75 damage per target per use. You're much better off using Ramstein's Lightning Bolts, Electromagnetic Gigaflux Reactivator or Chained Essence of Eranikus instead, as they won't cost you a penny and they deal superior damage.

My farms were very successful in The Stockade and Shadowfang Keep, but going any higher than that made mana management too difficult. I really enjoyed farming both dungeons, and I'd estimate an earning of at least 70g/hour employing my strategies and gear options.

I also liked the synergy with Aegis of Preservation, as they didn't share a cooldown. This combo fits a pretty small niche, but it's fun to mess around with -- especially in low level zones with big pulls. This combo is also extremely hilarious when you're dueling clueless Rogues. Rogues, considering they dual-wield and can benefit from Sword Specialization, tend to attack at around 0.8 swings per second. At this attack rate, the Fetish deals 925 Nature damage and the Aegis heals you for 875 Health. The damage and heal both work through Kidney Shots, too.
