I got the journal from a oozeling corpse. It's no longer on the tree.

Ignore Nibbly's comments except for the part that it can drop from an ooze. The bag is on the tree and there is a dead blood elf body just under it. The coords are correct.

I just got the journal off an Oozling (21/10/07) and can see the knapsack from where I am sat so looks like there's 2 ways of getting it.

The napsack didn't contain any Journal, guess I'm grinding this one out :(

Oozlings dropped the journal for me, all the napsak had in it were a candle and candy.

You can get this item as a drop or by opening his knapsack. Arelion's Knapsack is located at 40,37 next to a slime-covered corpse, in the Pools of Aggonar area of Hellfire Peninsula.

I get it from slime.

40,37 which is in the middle of the pools of aggonar. There is a dead blood elf underneed the tree. The Journal hangs in a bag off the tree.

Dropped off a blistering oozeling for me.

The journal dropped off of a creep near the bag. The bag itself had a couple of grey-colored "quest items" that vendored for 3c. The journal dropped before I checked the bag, so it's possible the knapsack would contain the journal if the ooze hadn't dropped it.

I absolutely HATE the bubble things, i can take on 3 of them but no more, and there's always more. and the coords above are confirmed, and it was in the knapsack for me, its glowing redd-ish

u dont have to look for a hanging bloodelf just kill oozes and either the ooze itself or the oozelings will have the journal

It is located in a root thats is over the Blood Elf. The bag Hang there!

Just this this quest today. After killing 50 ozzies decided to come to thot and see what others had to day. I never got the bag or journal to drop from the ozzies, But I did get it off the tree. Soooooooo much easier. But I did get alot of gold out of the drops. That is always good

I confirm, don't kill the mobs.
The bag hangs in a tree above a bloodelfs' body.
Open it and you get the journal.

i just got the Journal from the bag but then unfortunately i aggroed a lot of mobs and i died . . . when i got my body i show that the journal was missing . . .:S and i couldnt loot again the bag ? (WTF)

Go in stealth to 40,37 .. wait for a good moment and take the bag :)

its in the hanging bag above the slime-covered blood elf at 40,37 exactly. There's usually just crap in the bag other than the journal, but its worth a few silver so loot it as much as you want and keep getting the stuff for some quick easy money.

Arelion's Journal is a quest related item - you need to collect it within Pools of Aggonar to complete Arelion's Journal quest.

There are multiple green silmes in the area - Blistering Oozelings and Blistering Rots and some Terrorfiend.
You need to kill Blistering Oozelings to get Arelion's Journal dropped. The drop chance isnt terrible, usually killing less than 10 is enough.
