You get this by winning 30 marks of honor from pvp objectives, then purchasing this from the vendor in Zangamarsh. I use this on my Rogue. I do not think special abilities can proc it, but I could be wrong. Just testing it, I did 3659 melee swings, and it procced 365 times. This would give it about a 10% proc rate. However, it could be because I'm a Rogue, and it might actually be procs per minute like Seal of Command where the slower the weapon speed, the higher chance it has to go off. Either way, a pretty nice trinket.

Just a fair warning to hunters: This item is either currently bugged or simply poorly worded.

The "chance on ranged hit" means when you get hit by a ranged attack. It does not mean when you perform a ranged attack. Thus, aside from the nice attack power on it this trinket is (currently) largely useless to hunters.

This trinket procs ALL THE TIME. In a single fight you can see up to 5 or 6 procs. If you're a dual wielding rogue or fury warrior you're going to absolutely love this.

Also it is affected by the rogue talent "Quick Recovery" which causes it to heal for up to 144 instead of 120.

This item equates to around 30 MP/5 for Hunters (probably higher for BM hunters) if you're in a constant shot rotation. For sustained DPS fights (read : Boss fights) this can go a long way to keeping your mana decently high.

Adding my own (hunter) observations:

Firstly, the trinket does proc on Steady Shot (and probably also on Multishot and Arcane Shot).
Secondly, the observed proc rate of 10% for rogues does seem to apply to hunters as well (I did not count as scientifically as Ebys did, but some quick observations seem to confirm the 10% proc rate on my hunter).
Thirdly, if there is a limit on how often it can proc per minute, this limit is higher than what I can achieve with my shot rotation.

On my BM hunter I fire roughly one shot per second with my usual Steady/Auto grinding rotation. The trinket restores 150 mana on average per 10 shots (assumed), which boils down to 15 mana per second or 75 (!) mana per 5 seconds -- totally amazing.

I was pondering for quite a while what to do with my 30 Marks of HH, and getting this trinket was just about the right choice as it seems. To top it off it even gives +54 AP; the 75 MP5 alone would be worth the 30 Marks in my eyes.

Two thumbs up for this trinket! I only hope they're not going to nerf it...

Tried for a few minutes on Dr Boom today with a macro steady/auto rotation (BM, iAoTH and SS).

Average of 2 procs per minute, or 26 MP/5

I've tested it now for a while using ProcMeter, ignoring all attacks except ranged (Auto Shot, Multi-Shot, Steady Shot, Arcane Shot).
After about 3000 successful attacks (hits and crits) the trinket has triggered 215 times (~7.15% proc rate).
On a tight rotation with SS, iAotH, 15% haste quiver and a ranged weapon of about 3.0 speed you fire about 1 shot per second. We assume your hit rating is high enough for you not to miss a significant percentage of attacks.

This leads to: 5 shots / 5 seconds * 0.0715 rate * 150 mana = 53.6 mana per 5 seconds.

Maybe a bit more, or a bit less, depending on your spec and gear -- in any case, 50 mp5 is easily achieved while wearing this (and actually shooting) on a BM hunter.

works great with leader of the pack (improved). plus 4% heal of total hp when crit every 5 sec. don't forget attack speed 1 :)

Does the Mana bonus proc on spells or only on ranged weapons? Anyone know? If it doesn't proc for spells then I don't see any benefit to Marks of Honor Hold for balance druids.

I need to get this for my hunter because it seems pretty obscene for boss fights. It's both +AP and a proc that returns mana. It sucks that it's obtained by some pretty annoying pvp and a daily load of crap but whatever.

If you use Scrolling Combat Text, and would like a visual notification of when the trinket procs (besides the small heal animation on your character), you can add a custom event, if they are enabled in the SCT options.
Open the 'sct_event_config.lua' file in the SCT folder and add these lines about halfway down (you will see others like them). The first is for the mana gain proc, and the second is for the health gain.

If this indeed has no internal cooldown, one might carry around a https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=2100 for when your mana gets dangerously low in boss fights. As a BM spec, I've gotten my ranged attack speed to around .71s; I'm sure one could acheive .5s with the right gear and rapid fire. That plus this trinket plus https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=22194 plus (possibly) Judgement of Wisdom = full mana bar.

Note, though, you won't be able to do much of anything without pushing back your autoshots; this is strictly for mana regeneration.

Got my 30 marks after about 5 nights of casual tower capping on my 63 dwarf hunt (MM). A bit of advice for those wanting to get this trinket quicker than the 3marks/day tower daily, i.e. killing horde:

Start early, if you dont encounter many killable players then it's gona take a while to get 30
You will get a mark for killing an enemy player in a pretty large radius around the towers, especially in the central canyon. So chase down those runners and dont be afraid to kite either
Leaving towers one tick from a transition is a great way to keep tabs on where enemy players are - watch your Hellfire map. obviously.
Use the landscape to your advantage. The ramp area below the stadium, the hilltop advantages at overlook, and open terrain/mobs near broken hill. Confusing them can buy you precious time.
Call for assistance, usually a simple /1 3 horde lvl 61-65 at stadium ... will get someone who is eager for some action to help out.
Keep in mind you have to get the killing blow or be grouped with and in range of the player who got the killing blow

My limited observations at range indicate a roughly 5-10% proc rate as mentioned above. Great help in sustaining my mana pool.

This trinket is pretty damn hot. If the previous 0-60 leveling experience was any indication, this trink and the one you get from killing the Overlord should hold you over until the new endgame. Just hand in 30 honor hold marks of honor to the guy at the Alliance flag in Zangermarsh NW of the FP.

This thing has lasted me well into level 70. Although I use Hourglass of the Unraveller, and Bladesfists' Breadth for 5-mans and raids, I still use this with the hourglass for solo farming. I really couldn't believe how easy it was to get, and how long it's lasted me. Any class that does physical attacks should get this. trinket

Procs quite regularly. Really good for Druid Cat with the high attack speed giving more frequent chances to proc, especially in conjunction with Imp LotP. And the base Attack Power is a noticeable bonus. Well worth 30 tokens.

This trinket is worth the 30 marks of HH. It procs MORE than combat potency. According to the damage meters, it proc 3x than crusader. Combined with crusader, i mostly get out of fights full health, with the exception to caster mobs.

My weapons were the 2.90 GM sword, and the 2.10 sword rewarded (bought) from being honored with Honor Hold.
Spec is Full Combat swords.

Also tested with Hemo, with a 1.3 offhand drain life dagger (which was only 3% of the total procs)

Best trinket ever.

Chance on hit will vary based on your weapon speed. Slow weapons will have a higher proc rate than fast weapons. In theory the amount of mana returned will be the same for all weapons over time.

omg it's so damn good... i mean my LoTP + that trinket... i'm staying on 96~% hp after each mob and i usualy doesnt drop under 50% after 8-12 mobs.

10/10 rate its a must have... !

With all the trinkets out there that are easily accessable and add attack power and/or health, which ones and what combos are best for pve, pvp and raiding?

Mark of Conquest: +54 attack power, chance to heal 90-120 while attacking

Fetish of the Fallen: +56 attack power, use to restore 900 health if you kill something that gives experience or honor, 2 minute cooldown

Core of Ar'kelos: +52 attack power, use to increase attack power by 200 for 20 seconds

Essence Infused Mushroom: restores 200 health when you kill something that gives experience or honor, cannot occur more than once every 10 seconds

I've been trying to come up with different combos for different scenarios but my biggest question is how the Mark of Conquest compares to the Fetish of the Fallen. Since the healing from the Mark has a chance to proc as long as you are attacking something, versus the Fetish which requires that you or your party kill something shortly after you use it and then it has to cooldown for 2 minutes before you can use it again, which of the two might be of the most benefit (maybe differing in different situations)?

Okay... Um I was just wondering...

I am a balance druid with enough marks to buy this, though I need to know something first so I don't waste all my time. Will this proc of my range spell hits like the mage/warlock/priest one? Because if it does I would love this but if it doesn't I would keep GCI and Vengeance of the Illidari...

Please answer my question if you can. =]

I have gotten this, and i counted it, obviously, to proc ten(10) times within seventy-two(72) hits. so roughly, for me, it was one(1) in every seven(7) hits. seems pretty decent to me. The weapon i had used was Crystalforged War Axe . pretty slow weapon. 70 warrior. I had used Mortal Strike, Victory Rush, and Heroic strike throughout this experiment. Those abilities i had included as a hit. So any white hit, along with any yellow hit, got me one(1) out of seven(7) hits.

The mana regain proc on this generates a small amount of hate.

This can be annoying as a hunter, when fighting groups of mobs and pulling hate off of your pet.

Keep it in mind hunters! It took me a while to figure out that this was causing it.

All my testing points to about 3 procs per minute for the mana restore. That equates to approx. 37.5 mp/5. Not bad at all.

When it procs, I notice it does generate a minuscule amount of threat, because it pulls any mobs off my pet that haven't been hit yet.

So reading this I get the impression that its a great feral druid item but what about moonkins? Do they benefit from the ranged attack or would it be only for physical ranged attacks?

Crit chance doesn't have anything to do with this trinket, you were right there. But if you knew what Improved Leader of the Pack was, then you would have understood. Every time a feral druid crits in cat or bear form it heals them for 4% of their total health (can only happen once per 6 sec). So they get healed a lot.

Hi TBC Classic here.
I painfully farmed and at last got it. This morning I tried on Clefthoof.
Killed 10, then checked the log. Only proc 3 times.
VERY noticeably not proc as often as claimed by others.

otoh, mushroom trinket is much better, always, never fail to proc every kill for 240 (cat form with NI, often crit).

combined all that with Claw Idol and imp LotP, I have close to no downtime as cat feral.
