I thought it might be fun to use this guy to do all the quests in his little area, but I found out the hard way that he's immune to enslave. Don't bother.

Fought him as a 70 prot warr, took a while and my MobInfo2 stated he has 31,062 HP.

Once you use the staff that that Naladu gives you (see https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=29513)
Arzeth becomes an non-elite. Easy to solo. Just make sure to pull him back so you do not aggro other groups.

When I did it an Illidari Taskmaster and his 2 minions came up and started attacking me during the fight. Over all, not much hassle.

Had a 62 Preist 61 Wrrioir and 61 Hunter and it took us a few tries.

Easily soloed as a level 70 Elemental Shaman

I blew my Earth Elemental's cooldown and then just spammed lightning bolts. The elemental was at about 3/4 of it's health at the end of the fight. Be warned, he does cast shadowbolts that did hit for about 1000 (if I remember correctly)

i justpull him to the cenarion post, easy kill, still takes a little while though, since they are aall around lvl 63, its pretty much like having a group put him down.

Also immune to banish and fear, as well as horror effects(deathcoil).

He can be frozen by a mage's Ice Nova, dazed by Blast Wave, and slowed by frost effects. He cannot be Disoriented by Dragon's Breath that I saw; I might have missed.

He might be bugged at my server because i killed him with ca. 2k HP loss with my lvl 62 rogue...i wasn't on the quest, so he was elite and merciless :)

This guy is for the end of a quest chain. When you get the quest to kill him you get a rod to make him not elite. He has no special loot. Dont bother trying to solo/group kill him.

The guy was so easy... 62 warrior... used staff to make him not elite (and much smaller =) then whipped him

My friend (64 Pally)/w's me today and says "help me kill this 63 elite".So i say ok but im only 61 (warror) but we can try. We kill the huge freak, then a minute later he says "I need do it again quest didnt finish". So i check here and you guys say Use the Rod so i tell him and it was MUCH easier.

This guy is for a quest chain, he's at the end of it. It starts at Aylaan the Waterwaker

You have to complete 3 steps to the quest and then you get Arzeth's Demise where you use Staff of the Dreghood Elders to turn him into Arzeth the Powerless

It's a nice little quest chain that has gives a lot of xp and I recommend doing it ^_^

I just soloed this guy with a lvl61 mage. Pyro'd him used staff and he turns from elite to regular. Real easy.

Killed this guy for fun the first time. He was at elite 63 when we did. He dropped Blade of Unquenched Thirst and some change. We killed him as an elite when this dropped, we did not use the staff...

Tried to solo him as a frost mage, without making him non-elite.
He's immune to snares and roots, so I got owned lol

Not enslavable. I picked up the quest in the back of the compound and thought I'd see if I could use this guy to complete it. Got the immune message when attempting to enslave demon. I tried this when he was in his Elite state. Haven't tried to enslave him as a nonelite, but why would you want him then?

So no, warlocks can not enslave this elite mob.

friend and i were doing quest here and he got in our way hehe, so we took him down, 61 hunter and 60 priest, easy, fast respawn

Me and my 60 Pally mate saw this guy while questing, and decided to take him on, he was a 63 Elite when we took him on. The fight lasted ages, but eventually we managed to kill him without any trouble. The sad thing was we only got 7 Silver as loot!
Believe me, he is as tough as he looks! Do not attempt this without a very good healer!

we fight this guy with me 66 rogue and a 62 druid. with just us it was a hard fight and taking forever, but we were on the path to victory, or so it seemed. We started the fight right were he was on his path so we didnt pull too far but after about 1.5 min into the fight he went evade while still doin some dmg to us then when the druids mana was gone the evade went off and resumed the fight killing the druid and leaving me to vanish. I suppose next time i will bring enough firepower to kill it in a minute or under hehe

solod this guy with a 62 prot paly with like 200 life to spare and wouldnt of been able to do it but my last swing was a crit :) gotta screeny :)

Arzeth the Merciless is a quest related mob, you need to it to complete Arzeth's Demise quest.

This quest is quite easy to complete, head back to the big stone stairs and check out if Arzeth the Merciless is at the top of stairs. If he is not wait him to get back or respawn.
Use Staff of the Dreghood Elders on him so he losts his power and turns into Arzeth the Powerless. He isnt an elite anymore and should be get rid of with ease.
