Arch Mage Xintor respawns really fast (like enough time for you to get comfortable). So be prepared.

The Arch Mage is found sometimes attacking the dummies near it, I took him out with a hunter since when i went there i kept making all the sorcerers around me fireball.
He usually uses Arcane Missles that damaged me about 300 each blow so having a class that can interrupt is a good thing.

Did this as a 62 prot paladin.

The mage was actually a tad difficult, got me down to around 50% hp. The Lieutenant was easy. OK quest chain, easy to complete and decent rewards.

Did this as a 60 arms warrior, the mage killed me the first time i tried, and second time i killed him with 65 health left.

Did this as a lvl 59 retri paladin. the mage was kinda hard. needed to bubble-heal. if you can interrupt the arcane missles DO it. no problems with the lieutenant

I caught him while he was casting blizzard spell and he didnt attack me untill he finished chanelling! This means that he didnt attack me at all because he was dead by then :)

Don't understand how anyone found it hard. Went in, 60 rogue, got hit once, use Kidney Shot/Gouge/Kick appropiately and you won't get touched.

There's a lightly guarded back door to the Armory, at the extreme lower east corner of the compund's wall, very near the house where you complete a retreival quest. The back door is actually the end of the wall, and you can walk or ride around it into the armory compound. You can also exit the same way. You only have to skirt around large pieces of collapsed wall, which actualy provide excellent cover.

Once you're in, Commander Thalvos is very close to your left, almost by himself, pacing the floor of a small ruined building that lies close to the wall you just went around. He was a 61 for me (non-elite). He rezzes fast, so clear the area after you whack him. At most there were two roaming knights but density inside the compound is fairly low, like outside the walls. I pulled one knight with a rifle while I was still in the cover of the collapsed masonry at the end of the wall. The other kept his distance while I popped Thalvos.

Archmage Xintor is more centrally located, well inside the walls, unlike the unfortunate commander. The Archmage takes longer to locate and triangulate against the movement of surrounding knights, footmen, and sorcerers, but it's not that hard even without stealth. He does go down harder, as already noted in previous posts. I didn't confirm the Archmage's level, sorry, but it must have been no more than 62, and probly 61, same as the other chump.

I solo'd using a 62 arms warrior. It wasn't as easy as the prerequisite quest, but it also didn't take as long.

Which would be better for a level 60 rogue: the Enforcer's Chain or the Finely Wrought Chain?

As rogue I pick the Finely Wrought Chain and it gave me:

Damage: +4
Power: +30
Crit Chance: +1.03

What would you pick for a hunter?

The mage was tough because he used magic missiles. I'm a 61 paladin, and each one hit me for around 300hp. Stunning him and bubbling helped though. The other guy was easy.

This is an easy quest for a lvl 60 Rogue. Just remember to keep "kicking" the mage.

Ok the mage is the most difficult because he hits so hard to the very little fire resistent warriors. Tip that I learned bring a shield with you so you can "shield bash" him, do this when you see his hands light up with fire... it will save you alot of health. Be careful not to stick around to long... he RESPAWNS FAST! I had to fight him twice because of the respawn... haha. Good luck!

The Mage was quite a battle for my level 61 priest and he was buffed to the hilt potions, my spells, etc. but I prevailed. I paused after i killed him to look at map to look for Lt. Cmdr. Thalvos position and suddenly the mage was back attacking and I was not so buffed. Then, to make matters worse I was mobbed. I died. Kill the Mage and move to safety!

To complete this quest you need to kill Arch Mage Xintor and Lieutenant Commander Thalvos.

Make your way to the south of Honor Hold to Expedition Armory area. You can approach from the west part of the area and move between the all and the ruined tower.
There is Arch Mage Xintor south of that ruined tower, stands in circle of training dummies. Lieutenant Commander Thalvos is next to the southeastern wall, on the foundation.

The disturbances at Expedition Armory continue, despite your best efforts. No one truly knows everything that happened there, nor exactly what binds the spirits of the fallen soldiers to the ruins.

Perhaps we've been approaching this the wrong way. I've always assumed that each of the ghosts had a tie to the ruins, but what if their ties were to their leaders?

Arch Mage Xintor and Lieutenant Commander Thalvos were particularly close to their men, so perhaps overcoming their ghosts will calm the rest.
