Drop rate wasn't bad. I could tolerate it based on the fact that it provided a nice upgrade to my off-hand.

You think its a bad drop rate because of the fact that there are a millinoother ppl doin this quest. so the mobs u do end up killling... well... you dont kill many of them. haha

Seriously, this quest has awful drops :( where are you finding the good drops? I go straight out the gate and kill those mobs, and I've got 2 out of like 30.

Drop rate isn't great. I was getting one out of say 12 (?) kills maybe. But there is a very fast respawn making the whole quest doable in about 15-20 min (depending on competition for kills, that is)

Do this with I Work... For The Horde! to pick up the Salvaged Metal and Salvaged Wood lying around the camps.

Both can be done at 58,46.

This quest was really painfull for me, had a really really low drop rate, mobs here have around 5k hp. Quite annoying with the very fast respawn.

I did this quest as a 60 Elemental/Enhancement Shammy. The first grind (about an hour) I only got 5 bloods. Very painful. However, one week later (2/19/08) I farmed and got maybe the blood 2/3 times. I seem to have gotten lucky. Oh, if you are on a PVP server and are horde, there is a broken caravan right outside Thrallammar (sp) to the west. Great farming location because of low ganking and easy to farm mobs.

idk for u but i farmed it in 52 42 it was like 80% drop ;]

I think Blizzard lowered the drop rate on the blood, possibly in 2.3, because this is the third character I've taken through Outlands and my other characters experienced at least a 75% rate, whereas I had more of a 10% rate this time around.

This really wasn't a pain for me...

I noticed that the Bonechewer's right outside Thrallmar didn't really havea good drop rate but the one across the big road thing dropped them a lot more.

Just be ready to spend some time doing this quest!

Head out the main gate and go straight ahead to find the scaps and mobs. There is a level 61 elite that does a long patrol through this area. I saw him wander off and carried on with the quests. About 10 mins or so later he came back and I didn't see him until he attacked me! No point in meleeing him as a sub 60 hunter so I freeze trapped him and ran (seem to do that loads in Outland lol). He followed me all the way to Thrallmar! Okay when I reached the guards I turned around and shot him knowing that I would be safe ;-)
Moral of the story is if you can escape him keep running and don't stop. He will be right behind you!

Plenty at 62,47 all along the stone path.

I killed about 25-30 to obtain my 12.

Careful of the Fel reaver that patrols every so often right through the area though.

Coords are 65,46 you can also finish Work ... For the Horde! (if you're horde that is...) the metal and wood are laying around in the same area and the respawn rate for both the Bonechewers, wood and metal is fast.

To complete this quest you need to bring 12 Bonechewer Blood vials to Vurtok Axebreaker.
Follow the south direction and leave Thrallmar. You should see destroyed structures (ballistas) not so far, make your way toward them.
There are mobs within the area you can loot Bonechewer Blood from - Bonechewer Raiders, Bonechewer Mutants, Bonechewer Evokers - drop chance is medium.

Bonechewers! They should all die! The sight of their red skin and depravity makes my blood boil!

I have a mission for you, <name>. Kill Bonechewer orcs and collect their vile blood. There is an apothecary who needs the blood for her tests, so we can discover how these orcs fell to the demon taint, a taint from which we so recently freed ourselves.

Bonechewers scavenge near the ruined battlements along the Path of Glory, to the south. Return to me when your mission is complete.
