All you need to do is swim to the entrance to Coilfang Reservoir - tloc 50, 40(swim down about 100 feet). Quest rewards are excellent, especially for the amount of effort required.

Folks need to watch out for the crazy amounts of ravenous fish (forget the actual name) around the shores here. I jumped in the water at the wrong point and was badly mauled. They're like the fish in ZG, only non-elite, but there are *many* of them and can overwhelm you. If you can manage it, get up on one of the pipes and run to the middle to avoid fish.

If you swim through the drain, and go up to the meeting stone, and then accept the quest, and hearth out, then you won't complete it. Be sure to accept the quest before swimming through the drain.

It's the drain that leads to the instances in that zone (Underbogs et al). i got to entrance of the sewer pipe and got credit for qwuest immediately.

You will get 6gold and 65silver when you complete this quest @ level 70. Not 3g75s like stated above. I have a screenshot to back this up.

I got the schematics when I was doing the 'seeds' quest. It came when I was clearing out the umbrafen lake tower

It looks like the easiest way into the lake is at 47,35 on the mini island on the NW side of the lake. Just come off the road straight west, around a few slow ogres. and you can drop right into the water. Those lv63 fish are a pita sometimes

The quest rewards are fantastic. The quest itself is easy...the problem is making it there. I would suggest...like the others coming from the north..but there are frenzy there too. They are easier to avoid from the north. As a lvl 62 Lock, the frenzies shouldn't be a problem...just get the fish to your voidwalker and then rain of fire em'. Their stamina is very very low. They die quickly with that. I had to use rain of fire twice...as it does get their attention. once you make it to the pumps however..it should be a piece of cake.

I had the same problems, and the solution is a bit bittersweet. If you took the quest from her, AND you have the "Drain Schematics", she won't accept it. You need to drop the schematics, abandon quest, and take it again. It's easy and short, so the annoyance was limited. That's how I got around the problem, at least. And for these kinds of rewards, it's definitely worth doing a second time.

I went a different route...i went in the water directly behind the east beacon...swam out and found the drain...came back..dived down and mined a adamantite vein and swam back in..no prob...no attacks...on a 63 warrior

Co-ords are good, 50,40. Just head for the center of the huge Pipe assembly. You'll see it on your map anyway.

ride NE out of zabr'jin to serpent lake swim western edge of lake til you're just NW of the drain co-ords, then swim to drain - rest as listed

Alright, instead of waiting for the Pump Overseers to spawn go ahead and get the schematics when you have the quest "Balance Must Be Preserved". You can use the Ironvine Seeds an infinite amount of times on the same pump. You will therefore have infinite spawns of Pump Overseers and eventually get the Pump Schematics.

I found the drain and it says "Drain Located" in my log, but it doesn't say completed. I can't turn it in to Ysiel. I still have the schematics in my inventory. I'm not sure what I'm missing.

I've killed tons of naga at level 63 and have yet to see the item that starts this quest drop.

good coords, 50,40 ...just swim towards the white bubbly looking stuff.

if you go in from the NW part of the lake, you only have to deal with the roaming lvl 63 hydra's but if you go in from the southside, you have a bunch of piranah like fish that come at you in mobs.

near Coilfang Reservoir, you will see the whirlpool produced by the drain, swim there, and you will get the quest completed. Just watch out for hydras and especially, those sick sick evil fish.
Easy quest.

i picked this up and it wouldn't let me start the quest. as others have surely said, make sure you do this one before some of the others

To complete this quest you need to search Serpent Lake for signs of a drain.

So, to start the quest you need to loot Drain Schematics item from any naga mobs around the area. Usually need to 1-2 kills to obtain this.
There is a large lake named Serpent Lake in the middle of Zangarmarsh. You need to swim to the middle of the lake toward the big metal construction.
There is a passage between the tubes, you need to swim close to count the task. Just beware of angry fishes in the lake, overpulling them may be fatal.

As stated in another post, the best way to farm the schematic is be on the Balance Must Be Preserved quest. You can use your Ironvine seed to spawn Steam Pump Operators every 60 seconds. They have the greatest chance of dropping the schematic.

The schematics you've obtained show an underground system of drains and pumps that connect the lakes in the region to Serpent Lake.

If the schematics are correct, there is a giant drain in the center of Serpent Lake. Confirm this and bring the news to Cenarion Refuge.
