These guys are clumped up near the entrance to coilfang reservoir, at the bottom of the lake. Easy kills, but I suggest having some sort of underwater breathing buff.

You can easily solo the first boss in Gnomeregan for the Hydrocane for these kind of quests (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=9452)

This quest is great if you put off doing the Thick Hydra Scales (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=9774). I got 6/8 of them by the time I had 10/10 hydras slain.

The Fenclaw Thrashers are around level 62-63.

Avoid the frenzies by entering from the south (shortest swim anyway) or the north. From the east or west, you'll get swarmed by frenzies. They find clothies VERY tasty. Apparently, plate-wearers don't have much problem with them.

As an alchemist, I think I'll take some Swim Speed potions with me in addition to the water breathing.

TIP FOR MANA USERS :

If you need to take a drink, dont swim all the way back to shore. You can swim up to the pipes in the big drain (entrance to the Coilfang instances) and run up them out of the water.

This is much more convienant when you need to regain mana during this quest.

Frenzies are really easy to kill. i killed about 5 before i had to come up for air for undead.

if you abandon this quest ( and have none of the water breathing potion left ) u can take the quest again for another 3 shot water breathing potion....

If you are a caster, imo, take a melee friend with you do this quest. They are underwater, and roaming around to find another to kill will not always keep you close to land to sit and drink to recover mana. Just my opinion. I enjoy a good grind quest but nothing too annoying. Good luck. :]

No need to go all the way back to land.... You can climb up on to the pipes in the center of the lake.

The coords of 48,40 are correct. You can climb up on the pipes coming out of the water if you need to eat/drink. Quest was pretty easy for a 63 hunter.

Yes, the co-ordinates above are indeed correct. I'd advise to get an underwater breathing buff b4 u go, they are pretty deep.

As already posted,their right under the coilfang,but beware of the little schools of fish on the way down.
They don't have much HP or do much dmage,but they do tend to swarm you,i had to fight 12 altogether in one fight at one point,and some serious spamming of lesser healing wave(luckily with a few points in healing focus so the casting doesn't get interupted so much)was needed a few times during it.

I did this as a 63 priest with little trouble once I figured out how to stay away from the biting fish schools. I came in from North of the structure that sits in the middle of the lake, labeled Coilfang Reservoir on the Allakhazam map of Zagarmarsh. Most of the thrashers are 61 and 62, so it took a fair amount of mana. I had to make several trips back to the island North of the structure to drink some juice. Just come in from the North side to stay away from biting fish. I used a Greater Water Breathing potion, which gave me an hour under water. More than enough time.

This quest is tough to complete if you're not a Warlock or Undead. Before you panic, check your bags for a soulbound quest item, Potion of Water Breathing.

Potion of Water Breathing believe it's received from the early Hydra quests and I mention it because most people don't acknowledge getting it.

To complete this quest you need to kill 10 Fenclaw Thrashers and return to Zurjaya at Zabra'jin.

Go the the northeast of Zabra'jin, there is lake named Serpent Lake. You need to swim toward the Coilfang Reservoir entrance.
Use provided Potion of Water Breathing and search the underwater area around the pipes, multiple Fenclaw Thrashers can be located here.

It's a relief to be in someplace with water after trekking through the wasteland of Hellfire Peninsula. I was worried there might not be any respectable fishing holes in Outland.

Now I'm glad I lugged my fishing supplies along. For the most part, the fishing's been good, except for those no good fenclaw thrashers in Serpent Lake.

Not only do they scare the fish away, but they're bold enough to snap the bait right off my hook. I spend more time re-baiting the hook than I do catching anything!
