I am very suprised that no one has mentioned anything of WHERE these can be smelted. Can they be smelted anywhere? Is there a specific place like how Dark Iron must be smelted in BRD at teh black forge?

it is 15g per piece, with 20% discount it is 12g per piece, which equals 360g for 30 bars.

Here are some crafting tips for the bars if you, a friend, or guildie is in the process of making a Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker

Elemental Flux should only be bought from a vendor that you are Exalted status with (such as Orgrimmar). I am sure you can do the math yourself... It may seem obvious, but I have heard people complain about how much the flux is. Save yourself some money an buy it for 12gold instead of 15.

If you are a miner, one of the better places to get Arcane Crystals is from the Thorium Veins is Darkwhisper Gorge. Eastern Plaguelands is good as well, but can still be a populous zone.

Get all your Arcanite Bars made from a Transmute Master Alchemist - No If's, ands, or buts.... Unless you don't care about spending a lot of money, this is the way to do it. You can get multiple procs or you can get none. One proc is better than not even having a chance at getting a second bar, so be smart about it.

Fiery Cores drop frequently in Molten Core. You can farm trash solo (depeding on your class), but it's easier just to full clear with some friends. You will only need 10.

Elementium Ore only drops in Blackwing Lair from Technicians, which are located between Flamegor and Ebonroc. After running BWL a lot pre-bc and now a lot in WOTLK, I have noticed roughly 4-5 ores will drop per run. It may take you 2 weeks or so get all 10.

As of now (3.1.2), you would have to kill https://www.wowhead.com/cata/npc=14401#drops (Master Elemental Shaper Krixix) who is located in Blackwing Lair. He drops the book https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=44956 that requires you have mining to loot, and must be at 300 mining to learn the spell. He drops only 1 book per kill.

You would have to kill 4 bosses to get to him in Blackwing Lair, Razorgore, Vaelastrasz, Broodlord Lashlayer, and Firemaw. Hes located in the far end of Firemaws patrol room.

FYI, Even after you've killed him once and you lost the roll, you could go back in and kill him a second even maybe a third time and still recieve the book

A good way to make cash is to go into BWL every week, get all of the ore that drops, then go do MC and get the fiery cores that drop. The elemental fluxes are easily bought from a blacksmith vendor and you can either AH the arcanite if you're lazy or get them made by an alchemist and craft the elementium and sell it. It usually sells from 900-1,200g per bar on my server, figure you get 1,000 every cooldown, not bad!

The new Elementium Bar is Cataclysm's Titansteel. It will require 10x Elementium Ore and 20x Volatile Earth. Expect the new bar to be both highly sought after and terribly expensive. Eventually, doing a search here for Elementium Bar will no longer bring you to this page. You will have to search for Elementium Ingot. Currently, the Cataclysm Elementium Bar has not been assigned an item id, so all searches will come here.

I have picked up the Thunderfury quest today (05 dec 2010) and it asks me to provide 10 Enchanted Elementium Bar, Essence of the Firelord, and the Bindings of the Windseeker, so the 'Enchanted Elementium Bar' are still needed.

As of this current patch this item is the only legendary that you can have more then one of, and comes in stacks.

Mats: Elementium Ingotx1 (These are found off the goblins in black wing lair, right after the long run with the machines that slow you down, on my sever these cost about 200g each right now.), Arcanite Barx10 (These are made from thorium bars and arcane crystals, an alch skill of 275. Recipe, cheaper to make them.), Fiery Corex1 (These are droped by the mobs in MC and some bosses, about 30g each on my server for now.), Elemental Flux x3 (These are bought off the vendor right next to the forge and stuff in the dwarven district of SW for 3g each.).

As you can see, if you craft them yourself, on my server if you sell them for the right price, you can sell them for 700g, about an 400g made... Making them easy to farm and make cash off of.

What these are used for: Thunderfury, blessed blade of the trade trolls.

Recipe From: BWL, right before the two dragons at the end of the goblin strech there is an "master goblin dude" behind a few guards, kill him and claim the recipe!

Note: On an 85 you should be able to get most of these by hand, making an 700g profit. But in BWL, you`ll need atleast 2 people to get through the whole thing.

Edit: Wow. Just wow. Yeah, I wont be wasting my time trying to help you guys out anymore, just to be downrated to what, -1 right now? Its just sad.

To an earlier poster, yes, these are under Legendary on the AH (not sure when they added that to the AH)

I just noticed that there is a legendary tab, this was the only item under it.

The price of all related items ( Elementium Ingot, Arcanite Bar, Arcane Crystal ) skyrockets since 4.3 patch is announced, probably related to the transmogrification thing. Not just enchanted elementium bar, all legendary weapon related stuff have their prices surged a lot. And no, I don't think achievement plays a part at all. There's no such fever even during 4.0 / 4.1 days.

Seen this going on the AH a few times when I was looking to post sell off some Elementium Bar. Going price seems to bounce between 450 to 600 gold. Not sure if it sells that well since I haven't followed sales.

The best place I've found to farm Arcane Crystal is in Silithus --- just go around the edge of the map and mine all the thorium you can. With 310% flying and crusader auro I was averaging 6 Arcane crystals per pass and each pass took approximately 15 minutes. FYI -- currently on Beeding Hollow realm the enchanted elementium bars are on AH for 650-700G each and the elementium ingots are on AH for 80-120G each. Hope this was helpful =)

Also, it's a 30% proc (after about 10k hits worth of testing) of 300 damage meaning 90 more damage a hit average. On a 1.9 speed weapon that's an extra 47ish DPS. That means this is 53.9+47.3 DPS, that's 101.2dps on a 1hdr. Not to mention the attack speed debuff and the proc hitting multiple targets (AND it doesn't even break crowd control)

You're looking at the best 1hd sword in the game, without question. It makes Quel'Serrar look like a toothpick.

Watch a warrior swinging this baby vs a warrior swinging Quel and you're gonna see a roflstomp.

Krixxix himself isn't pulled when you pull the 3 63 elites in front of him and when you pull him he dies VERY easily so make sure you have a preist there to MC him.

He also respawns if you get to him early enough in the week.

Well I'm one of those players who dont see a profession complete before you know EVERYTHING you may learn in it. So I checked thottbot to learn more about the Elementium Ore/Bar to add it to my Mining. I'm just getting more and more confused by this.

HOW DO YOU LEARN IT?

Some players tell everyone within 100 yards learn to melt it when Krixix is Mind Controlled, others tells the Priest Mind-Controlling him have to target players one by one in order to teach them the skill.

Some tell this is a ability everyone may learn (how? is it some sort off extra-profession? is it on General in Spellbook with abilities like racial?)...

...while someone say it's Mining. But if requiring Mining is true, do you only need the Mining skill, and not 300, to learn this like some people tell?.

And some players even tells it's in Blacksmithing.

Blizzard have re-designed the whole process of learning Elementium. Master Elemental Shaper Krixix now drops a book called Goblin's Guide to Elementium which teaches a player the skill of creating Elementium Bars. The book requires 300 Mining, and thus the skill is added to the Mining-profession.

Master Elemental Shaper Krixix CAN be Mind Controlled and used to teach Smelt Elementium more than once.

Just keep sheeping/mind-controlling/dispelling/teaching-skill. It has a short cooldown but can be done multiple times. We taught the person getting the TF(Herz @ Frostmane) and about 3 other miners.

Still doing MC/BWL for Thunderfury as it is still the best tanking weapon in the game.

If anyone still wants to know, the "Smelt Elementium" spell is very easily obtainable if u have a controled raid group. You need a priest to take over Master Elemental Shaper Krixix befor you kill him. Once he has been taken over the priest needs to use the Smelt Elementium spell that Krixix has on his spell bar on all of the miners in the group. Like I said before, this is very easy to do in a controlled Raid Group.

Krixix is located in the Blackwing Layer.

well i guess it has changed u cant MC him anymore to learn it u kill him and he drops a book that teaches u it. So only 1 person in the raid can learn and its not 100% it will drop

the book to teach this drops from the goblin.. only one drops 100% of the time.. so one person can learn it.

i have seen alemetium ores drop while playing on my step dads 60 druid ( i got in trouble had no idea what to do tho...) thew ore itself drops in BWl but i have never seen Krixx i don't know what boss is wich but they were on the third bos.

It seems like alot of people are still clueless on how to learn this; Krixix is in BWL just before Ebonroc. He is mindcontrollable, in his MC state you get a spell called "Smelt Elementium" Target the appropriate player and hit the spell and violla, you can now smelt elementium. Krixix spawns with 3 level 63 mobs, sheep krixix for the fight, deal with the adds and teach someone smelt elementium.

To learn the smelting of the Elementium Bar, In Black Wing Lair, just before the boss Named "Ebonroc" there will be 3 guards with a mob named Krixix (copied name from different post). You are able to mind control him, and give people a buff type, which gives them Smelt Elementium Bar. You don't need to have 300/300 mining, you only need to have mining on you, i think this maybe nerfed to 300 or something, as having a professions with skill lvl of 1/300 is kinda lame.

Ore is dropped in BWL and you can learn to smelt it in BWL.
You need 1x Elementium Ore, 10x Arcanite Bar, 1x Fiery Core, 3x Elemental Flux to make 1 bar

i have seen 1 drop in BWL i have also never seen Krixx but we were on the third boss (was playing stepdad's Char) but i believe the one who looted was a guy named ***********

10 Arcanite bars, 3 Elemental Flux, 1 Elemetium Ore.

Off of BWL Technicians. 2 per full BWL run.

It's used to craft Thunderfury. It is also used to craft the new AQ items. Which are imba :P Thunderfury will never be outdated no matter what jealous noob says so.:)

You don't even need to have mining skill. A friend of mine took me through BWL after they'd cleared it for a guided tour, and that guy had spawned.

Taught me elementium smelting, useful for a herbalist/enchanter! I've switched to mining now, cos I need the cash. Don't see myself smelting elementium in the near future.

HOW TO OBTAIN Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker

Receive both Bindings of the Windseeker (drop rate: 4,08%) from Garr and Bindings of the Windseeker (drop rate: 4,28%) from Baron Geddon in Molten Core.
Visit Highlord Demitrian in Silithus. He will give you Vessel of Rebirth to start the quest Examine the Vessel which leads to Thunderaan the Windseeker.
Kill Ragnaros for Essence of the Firelord (100% drop rate when you have the quest in your log).
Aquire 10x Enchanted Elementium Bar.
Bring your guild and head back to Highlord Demitrian. Turn in the quest and he will summon Prince Thunderaan which will drop Dormant Wind Kissed Blade.
Complete Rise, Thunderfury! and you're done!

Mats needed for 10x Smelt Enchanted Elementium:

100x Arcanite Bar (100x Thorium Bar + 100x Arcane Crystal + 100x Transmute: Arcanite)
10x Elementium Ingot (Buy from the Auction House or loot in Blackwing Lair from Blackwing Technician)
10x Fiery Core (Buy from the Auction House or loot in Molten Core from trash mobs)
30x Elemental Flux
