Well, I sick of farming it. I killed more then 200 Oracles now in various runs and it didn't droped though other people and comments say it droped pretty quiek.
Since this is the last part I need for full armour set I suppose Blizzard took care that it will never drop for me.

I farmed on this pattern for 3 afternoons before it finally dropped. It dropped on approximately the 130th Oracle I killed. I also used the tactic of killing everything inside the temple and outside to increase the respawn chances of oracles. The pattern dropped in the temple. And then it dropped a second time when I killed one more oracle to clear the doorway out. Anyone on Frostmane (Alliance) who needs this set or piece can mail me ingame (Zipdog). I can now make the whole set.

took me about 55 before it dropped.....easiest way is to run around the outside of the temple. the spawn rate is low, so kill everything in hopes that the Oracles replace the crab that you kill.

Ive farmed a few of these recipes and the shoulder recipes for my epic mount training when i was level 60. At that time Burning Crusade was already out so nobody ever farmed them anyway so i had them to myself. it took about 100 kills for the first armor to drop and about 500 kills for the second armor to drop. the shoulder ones where super easy. Sold the armor recipes 75g each and shoulder 65g each. =)

This pattern is a bit tuff to come by. Brought my buddy who's a 70 afflic with me and prolly took about an hour or two of farming Temple of Arkkoran. Set aside some bag space as well for all the Big-Mouth Clams you'll get. If you can't heal yourself then you'll need plenty of pots or bandies.

Well after 6hours of farming I got Nothing. Lvl 70 warrior, mix of epic and rare gear i was easily able to solo the giants. Also with the help of some Nagrand Water cherries. On the 2nd day i got the shoulders and chest pattern within an Hour. The most annoying bit being the crap spawn rates for the oracles and the giants.

Was farming it for my Leatherworking Rogue. So big thanks for the comments and advice folks. Its just about playing a waiting game...

A bit of extra info on the whole farming process.
The oracles share a spawn with all the other mobs in the area. So, if you are just killing oracles, you're shooting yourself in the foot and making life more painful. Kill everything, and you won't have to wrestle with low spawn rates.

I killed everything in the area for about 4-5 hrs with no Stormshroud drops. I did find about 90 zesty clam meat, 5-6 black pearls and two high-level non leatherworking recipes.

I think I'm going to go crazy. O.o

I've been grinding the Oracles and surrounding lobsters in and around the temple for four nights now, clocking in at twelve hours grind time... I've also leveled from 56 to 58 off them, and they're freaking *green*.

It's gone past the "huh, cool pattern, must get that because my Blazewind Breastplate is so battered it must be cracked by now" to more of a pride thing - I've wasted so much time on trying to get it that I can't give up. Damned bullheadedness...

I envy all you people with this "luck" thing, I seem to be all out. -_-

The Orcles and the Pincers are sharing spawnpoints, so kill the pincers too. Killed like 50 of them now, not a drop yet

On Oracle, enter building, patrol path closest to entrance (mob comes toward door, turns right, stays inside building). Oracles and Pincers seem to alternate when killing them, meaning you kill an Oracle, a Pincer respawns, kill Pincer, an Oracle respawns. About a 6-7 min respawn rate.

Time: 3 hours, 15 Min.

After more than 3 hours of annihilating the entire oracle species, it dropped inside. Was just about to give up cuz my bags where full. In the end it was worth the effort tho.

Spent about 20 minutes killing the oracles and everything around them, cleared out the lower level of the temple, then the top (except the elite), then went back down, dropped on 3rd oracle kill as the respawned.

Finally found it after 3 whole days of searching (I'm amazed that my armor didn't go yellow after hours upon hours of murloc slaughter). Found mine inside of the temple, on the second floor (up the ramp), to the left of Arkkoran (the giant lvl. 60 elite NPC). I logged off for a bit, logged back in, killed the murloc down there, and boom, it dropped. It *does* drop, friends. Don't give up hope. Maybe it'll be your first kill, and maybe (like me) you'll have to farm several days for it, but it *will* drop eventually. You just have to ask yourself how bad you want it. I've been farming for about 2 hours and nothing yet. But i have seen a pattern where the oracles spawn. First of if you kill a pincer or something there is a chance of an oracle to spawn in its place. that said here are some of the spots i've noticed them spawn more than others.

1st: outside of the main door to the left of it. sometimes a pincer spawns but oracles spawn too.

2nd: on the bridge looking at the temple, you can see 2 pillar things to the either side of the bridge, if you're on the bridge running to the temple after the pillar if you look down right between the pillar foundation and temple foundation is another spawn point.

3rd: inside the temple on the left half of the temple is where they spawn, killed alot of pincers and other on the right half but no oracles. so once inside stick to killing on the left side. the area is begining with the small steps leading to the pool circling around (going left) to the other side of the pool.

Also pathers never spawn oracles. so don't bother with them.

hope this helps someone get this pattern. i'm still trying :(

Been on two trips to slaughter these things, about 3 hours each trip. Playing 59 hunter and just clearing the whole inside of the temple. Ground out all of L59 there to L60, then enough in L60 for my pet to level to 60. Must have killed hundreds of oracles by now, and nothing =/

Killed sons of akkorac for about 3 hours, and got 4 shoulder patterns. They are pretty easy for bm spec hunter, so I wasn't training to the fellhounds, just swam around and killed them. All 4 were off L55 sons btw, dunno if L54 ones drop them, didn't for me. Sorry for offtopic hehe.

Will try the oracles again after maintenance today =)

I think people that got them in a few kills were just very lucky, that will not be the experience for most.

i finally got it off of one of the Oracles...took me three hours and i was getting impatient..but igot it, totally worth the time if you are planning on selling the Stormshroud set cause you can get a boatload of Gold...

Yes its a rare drop.

If you look at the total kills and the drop you get this

Arkkoran Oracle
Kills - 26089
Drop - 222
Drop % - 0.008%

So yeah, .008% off one NPC type is a extremly rare drop. HAPPY GRINDING!

I got this in 30-40 mins. A couple of other posters mentioned getting this on the bridge, I did to. I tried for 3 hours for the shoulders though with no luck.

Really fed up trying to get this.
I have 3 chars camping this area, 65 priest, 64 druid and 64 rogue.
When 1 is full I switch to another. I have done this now for a week having cleared the outer area then the inner up and down still no drop.
was so fed up jumped in water for a break and tried to get shoulders with my druid. Spotted him almost straight away, easy kill, no drop. swam away saw respawn same again. 3rd kill it dropped making up for over 11 hours farming. Now do I go back for the armour, or throw comp in bin.
Incidentally only my rogue is a leatherworker so it is not a skill dependant drop.

It is all luck of the draw. The pattern dropped on second Oracle for my lvl 65 Lock. The pattern is for my lvl 46 hinter that has 270 LW. I am not trying to brag I just want to reiterate the random nature of these things. Perhaps it is related to being on an older server(Rexxar US) where nobody farms for this stuff much anymore. I also only had to kill about 5 Giant Sons to get shoulders. Maybe it is karma, as I have been in outland from lvl 58-65 and have never gotten a drop good enough to replace quest reward stuff.

i didnt even know this pattern dropped at the temple i was just wandering around azshara and on my third kill this pattern dropped, so then i came on thottbot to check how much it sold for and realised it was a rare drop =S

4 hours of farming for this and the shoulders, mostly spent on these guys. Finally dropped on the 102nd loot =) Killed another 15 oracles just in case I got lucky again, but enough of that :p

GL to anyone else, they will drop, just takes a while. Also got multiple stacks of clam meat, a few random greens, some gems, and about 30 random pearls.

At the Temple, around or in it. Drops are by the oracles only, soo kill everything. It takes about two hours to get or so, me and a friend got one each, I was out and she was in the temple, we got it about 2min difference but we was there about the same time.. Get ready to kill around a hundred of them!

This has a PITA factor of about 11. 3 hours clearing outside ∈ with a 57 hunter. Went in with 3600 bullets came out with 600. I wasn't even getting any of the cool loot anybody else was going on about. Gave up and decided to clear water around the front just for giggles and BAM! I just stared at the loot box not knowing whether to believe it. Back to buy bullets and after the shoulders for the set.

Just got the pattern drop. Was almost losing my patience, and almost called it quits for today, but decided to kill a few more and it dropped. was well worth the effort :)

Took 48 oracle kills, +other mobs around the temple and inside. Total kills about 150-180.

Time spent grinding about 5-6hours, seems to be average time many ppl have spend trying to get this pattern.

Other loot i got was about 80x zesty clam meat, 2 black pearls and few items worth about 15g all put togeher.

If u don't get a drop, don't loose faith! It's gonna drop eventually if you keep on grinding :)

next up, shoulders pattern :)

Spent 45 mins grinding this yesterday and nothing but I went back today and just decided to kill everything. One circuit round the outside of the temple with no luck then one circuit inside Hammer of the Northern Wind (Epic - https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=810/hammer-of-the-northern-wind) dropped of a lobster dude then back outside and the pattern dropped off the first oracle.

ok, i have killed 130 oracles and 123 pincers and nothing yet :p

some tips
take a lot of food and/or bandages because there is nothing to buy food near. Keep going on circles around the temple, and kill everything(if u r a rogue maybe u can skip the pats). Remember that the guys r humanoids so pickpocket, sap and sheep r avaiable.
If u r the same lv of the mobs or lower i would recommend u avoid going inside the temple because the mobs r to close from another there and u could have problems pulling and with respawns.
Thats all... hope that one drop for me one day

Been there 3 nights consecutive...and killing mobs (pincers, clackers, oracles and all) non-stop for 3 hrs each time. clocked enough xp to lvl to 58 (was one bar into 57 before i started). harvested loads of meat, dozens of pearls, 5 green gear but no pattern yet...This is crazy, should have just bought off the one i saw on the AH at 50g...I could have farmed better in other places with the 9 or 10 hours clocked in.

Dropped off the first Murloc i killed, when I was doing quest chain for https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/quest=3628/you-are-rakhlikh-demon. Sold for 150g in a couple minutes after announcing it in the trade channel. I've just looked at the drop rate and realized that I was lucky. I Guess 150g is more than good money for a pre-BC pattern.

My advice:

On the way to the Temple, swim out from the big ruins on the west side of the Bay of Storms toward Scalebeard's Cave. Kill any Son of Arokkoran you see (they drop Stormshroud Shoulder pattern) and head out across the Bay to the Temple.

Kill all the Oracles, Pincers, Muckdwellers, and Clackers on the Temple bridge, in the Temple, and the 'porch' around it.

Repeat until the Stormshroud Armor pattern drops. Kill everything since they lobsters will respawn typically as an Oracle or Muckdweller and vice versa.

My final tally was 35 Clackers, 53 Muckdwellers, 113 Pincers, and 102 Oracles over about 4 hours. The pattern dropped on the east side 'porch' with columns.

The mobs average roughly 5 silver each so you'll rack up several gold in cash plus a number of vendorable grays that go for over a gold apiece as well as a handful of auctionable greens. Solid Chests spawned on the back (south) side of the Temple porch and on a sunken building just to the west of the Temple, also. The Big-Mouth Clam drops are extremely high which also give lots of pearls (small lustrous, iridescent, golden, and black), probably about 2 dozen total of those. Oh, yeah, and enough Zesty Clam Meat to choke a seahorse!

Killed them for hours.. atleast 5 hours... and i'm a level 70 hunter so they drop quick.. just trying to finish the set off for my fiance.. i had to have killed 700-800... all together, probably 300-400 of which were oracles.. still nothing.. i'll just buy it if i see it in ah.

I got this pattern accidentally doing another quest. Walked into the temple shot the first murloc i saw and he dropped the armor pattern just sold it eleven minutes later for 150g on azuremyst server. Happy hunter

I was asked my friend, to escort me with his lvl 60. sorcerer. She is quite effective. The 13. oracle dropped the recipie. So it wasnt terrible.
If I had to do this in solo grinding, it would be much more boring.

A tip: ask a sorci, who is good in area damage!

Can confirm that the pattern drops pretty rare thou...

Spent 3 x 2 hurs grinding these guys without drop, finally when i just had a couple of minutes to do nothing i whent to Azhara and it dropped of first mob killed :) nice that completes the collection so my alt Rogue can look nice when going to Outland on his way to Northrend...

It took 148 of the murloc kills to get this to drop, and more crabs than I care to mention. I never want to see one of those crab things again! I then rushed back to Darnassus and made myself a set of the armor. The shoulder drop is a picnic compared to this

has something happened during a patch or update or something? i've been farming in and around the temple killing everything (pincers are on spawn rotation with oracles) for a week straight with no drop. started at level 53 and am almost 55 now :(

if anyone gets this pattern on wildhammer, i'll make them one and split the costs of mats. send an in-game tell if alliance-side or post here if horde-side.

Went up to Azshara to find Duke Hydraxis and while nailing murlocson the way there I got two of these patterns in the span of about a half hour. And me, having a miner/blacksmith pick these up - Go figure!

this takes ages, i've been here almost 7 hours no and no pattern.. lots of the 0.01% drops have dropped, but not the pattern, i think the 1.03% drop is too high tbh

I have been farming for a combined 15 hours now, lots of golden pearls have droped, and those are suppose to be 0.02%?

maybe 700 mobs killed. Got me from 58 to 59.5, I'm just going to grind them until 60, if I don't find it I'll employ the population of china to make sure there is someone in every inch of that temple killing things as they spawn.

The Stormshroud set is Rogue Heaven. I sell each piece for about 75G. I get lucky and catch an elemenatal invasion and get 5-10 air in 2 hours. Water is easy to get.
I farmed for this pattern and got it on the third kill. This dropped of a servant, not an oracle. This used up all my WoW luck for the next three months.

Farmed this for about two hours today on my level 70 FC Druid so I can create the set for my Rogue. Decided to just stay inside the temple as the respawn rate is pretty quick. Ran around and aggroed five-six mobs at a time, and just swipe-spammed them. Like I said, spawn rate is pretty fast, and you want to kill all of them so that you can have a better number of Oracles spawn the next time around.

Four of us (Level 54-57) farmed the temple and surrounding area for 3 straight hours today. I approximate around 200 Oracles slain and no Pattern dropped. Another 2 hours of killing Sons of Akkoroc after that and no drop either. Very, very frustrating...

I think the drop rate is completly random, or the area is easy bugged, I was at about 195 oracle kills when I quit, although for the few days I was farming, I kept seeing the same dead crab around the back, it woulnd't respawn or dissapear.

After the patch I went hunting again, still counting on last kills

198 - Nothing
199 - Nothing
200 - Droped
201 - Nothing
202 - Nothing
203 - Droped

very bad system, I would much rather have found just 1 in my first 100 kills.

so close to 800 kills around that zone to get them, and that is no joke for a pally.

dunno if i did anything special, but i did clear the temple (of oracles) before this dropped, and ofc i showed my muscles to arkkoroc himself :p

I got mine after 21 kills and a lag death.

After getting tired of clearing the circle around the outer temple, I worked my way up and got into one of those fights where you're battling an invisible foe, without help from your pet, and no ones' health bars go down until one of you dies. In this case it was me. Sigh. So I returned (I was by this time on the second level of the inner temple) and called my pet, then even before I recovered found another Oracle. Well, I presumed, I can heal while my pet builds up aggro. Did so, killed it real horrorshow, and... got the pattern.

Not that I recommend dying purposefully so that you can get the pattern. There are a million stories in the naked city and this is one of them. Now I'm off to kill lots of Sons of Arkkorac.

my brother killed that one three headed water monster, and then killed that son, then it dropped the pattern. he got both, armor and houlders, after killen that sea thing and then the son/oracle

Been killing these oracle and pincer for about 2 hours now, only thing I got was some big clams and a few silver for each kill. Clam gave me 2 black pearl and 1 iridescent pearl. Wow, what a good farming night......doh!

I'm a LVL 60 Hunter Elemental LW. Kinda need this pattern to make me some money. So I'll continue grinding and hope for the best, but I know the worst will happen....

Took me about 8 hours of farming to get this pattern. My observations and technique: It seems that the Pincers and Oracles share the same spawn locations and the red murlocs and Clackers share the same spawn locations. I stood on the pedestal in the center of the building and would pull the Oracles if up and then the Pincers if no Oracles were up. I can confirm that Oracles seemed to spawn at any location in the room that had a Pincer so you are not limited to one side as I saw suggested in another comment.
If farming with a friend, I would have the lower damage output of the two outside the building killing only the oracles to try to force more Oracles to spawn in the building where the mob density is higher. The second floor of the building only has 4 mobs. 3 of them can be oracles, 1 cannot.
Good luck with your farm if you cannot just buy it from the auction house. If you can just buy it from the auction house and have a way to make that much gold faster than the farm, I'd strongly suggest that instead.

This was an extremely fun and pretty long grinding session! I've got the Pattern: Stormshroud Armor on my 180th Oracle kill.
They also dropped Eye of Flame which is a super rare world drop and the best twink item for a 49 twink fire mage.
Got hundreds of Zesty Clam Meat from Big-mouth Clam which I used to cook Undermine Clam Chowder.
Found 7 Golden Pearl and multiple other pearls.
Made lots of gold and exp and also worked on my macros and customized my UI.
What an adventure!
As a 52 lvl warrior I was simply circling and killing all the mobs on the bridge and around the temple. Inside the temple is also fun, but a bit fast paced and sometimes mobs might spawn on you.
