This is probably one of the most useful items for any engineer. A lot of people diss the jumper cables because of their low success rate, but the XL cables seem to have about an 80% success.

You must be a Goblin Engineer to MAKE these cables, but they can be used by any Engineer with sufficient skill. I make them for all my engineer friends because on my server the schematic is rather expensive. They're BoE and non-Unique, so one Goblin engineer can suit up an entire guild full of Engineers in these.

Very useful - example: Last night, after killing the boss before the Emperor's Room in BRD, the rest of the group stood in the path of the flamethrowers and died. We would have had to clear our way all the way back up to that room if my jumper cables hadn't worked and rezzed the priest.

Materials needed to craft this, broken down all of the way, are:

6 thorium bars
4 truesilver bars
4 copper bars
2 runecloth
2 elemental air
4 elemental earth
4 essence of fire
2 star ruby
2 ironweb spider silk

I've been trying to get this pattern with no luck.
For some reason i can only reset BRD 5 times then i get a message when i try to cross the instance entrance. If i wait 12 hours i can return without any issues.
As a 70 hunter i dismiss pet, walk to the wheel to open top door, walk thru any mob groups and feign death. Rinse & repeat F/D till i reach the bar, i attack Plugger, walk out reset.
Out of 13 runs i was able to get Fiery Enchant drop 6 times yet nothing for this pattern.
I must have very bad luck.
1 question, i am not an engineer, i am trying to get this for a guildie. I'm guessing its BOE for the pattern and will it drop for anyone or is it like outlands items that are BOP?

Since it is not mentioned. It drops off the NPC in the Bar in BRD, the NPC sells alcohol that you can give another NPC to get him drunk if you want to open the door. I usually sell all my bop's and garbage to him before attacking him. He's upstairs on top of a table where there are 2 boar carcasses on a table.

You do NOT have to be an Engineer to get this drop.

Very easy to farm at 70. Theres only one pack of mobs from the start of BRD you have to fight, just after the roofed bridge'like area, and those are avoidable with a Stealthing class, and although i haven't tested there probably avoidable with an Invisible Potion. As described by VooktaVelen above a Hunter can Fiegn Death at the mobs to deaggro them.

Be sure to have the Shadowforged key if you intend to do this though.

Recipe still sells for a respectable price on the AH. Just be sure you can escape the ensuing bar brawl once you attack Plugger. Or roll a Prot Pally and fight the entire pub at once for kicks.

Are there anyone that can explain the way for me to Plugger Spazzring, cause i cant seem to find him, have been in there a lot of times now, and i never find, i just run around looking like a fool :)
So a detailed explaination would be greatly appreciated. and i have the Shadowforge key, if that makes it easier

I was able to do this solo as a 60 combat rogue. I had to blow all my cooldowns and use a major healing potion as well. I sapped the highest level caster, blinded the other, and then used evasion followed by the HFP dodge trinket. Killed and looted the guy with 1k health to spare. Then I vanished. He hasn't dropped the schematic for me yet, but it should just be a matter of time, now.

Annoyingly, the fused wiring required to make these cables requires a higher level of engineering than the cables themselves. If you want to make these cables at engineering level 265, you will have to either buy the wiring yourself, or farm it off of mobs.

im not sure if u can equip if ur not engineer with required skill level but u definitely hav to b that lvl engineering to use them.

Can you use the normal jumper cables, and it doesn't work, equip the XL, and use it?
Because that would be neat.

In a very long BRD run where nearly every boss was killed, used the XL 5 times failed only once (we had a shmn in the group so we alternated on wipes between ankhs and cables)

I am thrilled I got the recipe for only 35g - have seen the recipe for no less than 50g-75g since and the cables themselves for the same $ which is a better deal since you don't need to pay for the matz in AH

definitely worth it tho!

My overall experience with the jumper cables has been a hilarious one, that's for sure! They only work when you least expect it, but when they do work it's fun to see other's wonder how a hunter is rezzin'! Anyway, I agree on the group rez, I had a Brd group that consisted of 2 Be pallis, 2 (almost 70) tauren shamans, and myself a 65 hunter. They all died while i feigned death, and i was able to keep us all from having to walk forever. Needless to say it was well worth changing from the regular cables to the XL.

While you need to be a Goblin engineer to MAKE them, you do not have to be Goblin to USE them. For all of you Gnomish Engineers who want a pair, find a Goblin friend.

The Goblin Jumper Cables have a 33% chance of success.
The Goblin Jumper Cables XL have a 50% chance of success.

Both share a cooldown, but if you have someone in your party who has engineering, hand 'em off, let them give it a whirl!

I gotta say the drop rate for the schem is quite often, when i was 60 i went through with my gobblin eng rogue stealthed all the way to plugger. I ambushed, used evasion premeditation, ghostly strike, and then evasion again. once he went down i vanished to get the adds off me, looted and got it. HSed out and made my cables and sold some to gnomish eng for 10G with their mats

If you have the key this is a simple run.

walk in go left unlock the gate, down the hall on the right is another gate. Through that and on the left is a door. Less than 30 seconds to get there total.

In the door is the East garrison, use the key againon the big gear thing in the room. For me I have to kill 1 mob of 3 to do that.

up the stairs, maybe kill a fireguard on the way, then left down the hall. through the bridge you just opened and into west garrison.

Have to engage 1 mob of 4.

First right is stairs going down, that's the Manufactory. Bear right through that dodging roving gnomes, and you'll see a bridge with 4 fire elementals. Past them is the tavern.

Made 4 runs so far and got 2 Shankers, a Tunic, and some Flameweave wrists that aren't on the list.

No sign of these plans, but hopefully it won't take to long. Can do about 4 runs in an hour once you know the system and the Pat routes.

edit: Run number 8 they finally dropped. Got a couple greens and another tunic first.

I tried to get creative a couple times and find short cuts and rush things... I ended up wasting more time running back from the GY twice.

Killed Plugger while running through to look for mining trainer, didn't even drop the grim guzzler key, only a grey and a world drop green. Had no trouble at all with them at 70.

I got these yesterday running through Blackrock Depths with a random PUG. After clearing most of the instance and not winning a roll the whole time, these dropped. Being 1 of 2 engineers in the group we agreed to both roll need and I won 67-64! Being a goblin engineer I have been wanting to get these plans for a long time but they are usually somewhere in the 50-60g range on the AH. A little steep for them if you ask me. So winning the roll for these was like winning the lotto to me, i didn't care about all blue items I lost out on anymore.

I had everything except the iron web spider silk in the bank so it took me only a matter of minutes to make them. I was out in Felwood later that night and came across a random Tauren corpse and tried the cables for the first time and they worked!

did a stealth run on my druid (lvl 70) to get this for my warrior (also 70) dropped first kill of the guy. thought i'd do it again, give it another try at making a profit...dropped again. ^^ game doesn't hate me as much as i thought it did. Schematic: Goblin Jumper Cables XL x2 in 10 mins = win!

the guy you buy the ale from at the bar. i was told to throw the booze in a corner to get the patrons away from him; didnt do me any good. just straight up killed the 4 patrons next to him, he agro's and he dies 2 mins later taking my time. schem dropped both times. just to be wary of the other patrons that do become agro...stealth came in very hand for this entire event.

I've been chain killing Plugger lately, he drops these and a BoP green leather vest almost constantly .. been giving the schematics away in IF ;p

I got this from Plugger a couple days ago. I was VERY surprised to get them, but I sure wasn't complaining. As I'm farming BRD for fun and profit anyway (it's one of the few places a 60th rogue can solo in peace and quiet on Arthas), I sold the schematic for 150g after about 20 minutes in the trade channel. I could probably have gotten more, but that's about what I was hoping for, and now I can finally afford my epic mount! Wahooo! Now I need to get more so my engie alt can have some cables.

I know you have to ge of goblin engineering training to make these but can the gnomish engineers use them?

The cables can be learned by any engineer, goblin or gnome, dont let the word "Goblin" Jumper cables mislead you. The only skills you cant learn are the ones you get from a trainer. An engineer can learn any schematic engineering recipe they find considering they meet the skill level requirement, the schemata do not discriminate but the specialty trainers do.

I see this schematic as being listed as a goblin engineering skill in the alakhazam section, so I am no unsure about this skill now.... will have to look into it more.

You need goblin engineering to make, but gnomish engineers can still use them. You just have to buy them off a goblin engineer.

These sell almost instantly on Durotan for 10g. I've sold 6 so far, and they've not lasted more than 5 minutes at the AH. Need to raise my prices I think, hehe.

These, at least in my experience, have a substantially higher drop rate than 17% I've done 20 kills at this point and I've had 9 of them drop. They sell for 2-3g.
