Would this be better for a 2h fury warrior because it is faster or would I want to go with the corpsemaker because of the higher dps?

I dont really agree with the above comments. The only thing a big bad 2h is good for is Mortal Strike which a warrior won't have for another ~15-20 levels. 2H is fine for fury until then - especially if you wish to skill up a certain type of level for twinking at 29 or 39.

At 39, improved slam talent with a 2 hander is a beautiful thing.

I'm a big "white" weapons fan... so when this dropped I had a bit of a fight with the hunter I was boosting, but in the end my hellreaver made me feel like a big bad arms warrior so I forgave the lil' hunter for needing on all the items. I did however made a note to someday come back for it, since I like the model very much. I plan on getting this and others, like excaliboar, and also some nice daggers I've been longing to obtain at the lvl, but since there were others in party, couldn't. I'll just waste some space in my bank or something, sure, but what the heck? u don't get ninja swords on all roads!

This sword may have good dmg,very good DPS, and good speed but Haunting Blade from SFK (https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=6641 ) has some better stats (28 attack power = 14 str for a warrior) and speed for an arms warrior. Only problem is, Haunting Blade drops from a rare (https://www.wowhead.com/cata/npc=3872 ) so it might take sometime to get. Another option would be Arced War Axe (https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=3191 ) which also drops from SFK.

this stupid sword wont drop for my pally ): i am using Haunting Blade right now bcus of the slow attack speed and high end damage with is perfect for Seal of Command since it has a 7 ppm...So this sword would be a slight upgrade from the dps

Based on the DPS and the echantment I deal more damage than https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=3191 which is what I had before. Additionally https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=6905 dropped for me, but this item is still better.

Simple maths tells us that if you subtract a minus number, you get a positive.
So this sword's tooltip says its corrosive acid adds to your opponents armor.

Edit: Appears to be fixed. Previously, this item would 'reduce the target's armor by -50'.

Actually, this two-hander as an Arms warrior, is amazing. The lowered armor is nice, and the 7 damage, combined with deep wounds and rend, makes for some good DoTs, and in groups, I always out dps all other classes. The proc seems to happen often too, almost always see it up on a mob.

On Retribution Paladin, I prefer this to Arced War Axe, Mainly because of the CoH and the extra damage, good for crits and stays with you for a while.

With the new changes to the talent system, this is rather amazing for up-and-coming Arms warriors. Great top-end damage for MS, and an armor reduction proc that seems to go off rather consistently. It's a little fast, but most weapons at this level are. It still lasted my warrior through til lvl 35, even without the stats to help it along.

Just got this item at lvl20 for my paladin on my 1st run in BFD. Many thanks to my level 60 druid friend. Now i need to level up to level 26 in order to use it. :)

I got the strike of the hydra and tortoise armor with one level 60 druid, one level 60 warrior, one level 28 warrior and myself level 26 warrior in almost 20 minutes.I was lucky because i looted all at the first attempt.But...

You can get the tortoise armor and enchant stats but forget the sword.Doesnt worth it if you are level 28+.Get Combatant claymore instead.This sword has 25.6 dps but have no stats.And that sucks.It is slow and you can use lower dps swords with nice stats instead.

Got mine at 26. Didn't even know it existed before it dropped.

This is a great weapon for a 26+ Warrior. Not much surpasses it at this level, if anything. Put a +3 or +5 damage enchant on it and you'll be hitting like a mack truck in AB/WSG. And looking damn sexy to boot.

This is possibly the best Warrior weapon for high 20's, and could carry you into your 30's and your WW axe/sword/mace.

I love this sword so much, it'll be tough to vendor it. It'll have too many fond memories. I need a fireplace to hang it over. ;)

I'm a lvl 29 Tauren Warrior, and wanted this sword so bad, so I got a level 56 Druid take me through. We totally owned everything and sword dropped first time! Haven't had a chance to use it yet though, seems awesome! I measured, with a Tauren holding it, it's longer than a dwarf. xD

Jeez when I saw this blade online I thought it would be like a regular sword.But man this thing is awsome. I got it enchanted with minor beast slayer so it looks like a red lightsaber. I came in first place in WSG with this babie.

There is absolutely nothing you can say that justifies need rolling on a melee weapon with procs over another melee class.

Also how come some hunters are always fighting melee, don't they understand what their class is for? I've seen a bunch inside instances and all that happens is that they get their asses kicked and when they feign death it's always the healer that gets nailed.

Now if i see a hunter like this i boot him, A player that can't do his task in a group is one wasted spot too many.

i agree that hunter need a good close range weapon but not as bad as a tank hunter should work on ranged and pets that keep monster awy from them

Jesus Christ! Hunters don't need this! I'm a hunter and when i was lvl 24-30, i PASSED on this! And i'll tell you why. I already had a 2 handed axe "... Of the Monkey". That means STAM AND AGILITY! Hunters you need stam and agility alot more then you need a proc in melee class. Wether your fighting in PVP or PVE, if you ever get into Melee, Wing Clip, run and when your far enough, Concussive shot and pelt away! By that time your pet should of retaken aggro but your sending out a concussive shot just in case. So for the love of god, if your a hunter and this drops, DON'T ROLL ON IT! You're just giving the hunters out there that CAN play their class a bad name!

My main is a level 70 raiding Hunter, and after reading the comments here I feel I really need to state that Hunters should not be picking up this weapon, even if noone else wants it.

Hunters have pets when soloing and tanks when grouping to keep mobs at range for them. Hunters do much more damage at range than in melee, especially as they increase in level (at level 70 I do at least 3-4 times as much damage at range).

For Hunters, melee weapons are pretty much just trinkets that we use to increase our ranged damage by equipping ones with stats like +agil, +ap, +crit. By taking weapons that have proc-on-melee-attack effects, you make Hunters look bad.

Please leave this weapon for Warriors.

A perfect examples for a hunter would be a good one PvPing, I see so many twink hunters using Night Reaver, and Searing Blade it makes me sad... but when I see them on my twink its like easy kill, mellee idiot. A good weapon choose for a hunter would be +agilty/+stamina. I remember my first hunter, I melled a lot until I learned the godliness of aimed shot. In my opinion, this is a great warrior weapon up until Corpsemaker.

Didn't get it with my Warrior but tonight I got it with my Blood Elf Pally... just hit lvl 26 too so I can also use it...

Also won the Reef Axe, really @#$%ed up that I can't sell it at AH xD

Anyway I was praying for this sword, but when i saw onhere it was only 14.9 % of drop I didn't get my hopes up, then it dropped.. and well I kinda freaked!

First run true BFD with my pally and already this great sword xD

My Sin'dorei Warblade which I had enchanted can now be put in the closet.

This sword is good, but its not as good as Morbid Dawn, which u get in Scarlet Monestary Graveyard. But Corpsemaker is even btr than Morbid Dawn.

this legend will go on forever years to come and for all the school children to read on with pride and knowing they have listented to the great story about a fierce warrior named bromus. bromus was just a nobel warrior with little money he then found out about this fabled sword called the hydras strike he was so happy to stop looking at overly priced swords that where pretty kool looking yet so useless that made his eyes bleed he rouned up some of his finest guild members and friends a fierce and agil hunter a intellectual mage a darkmaster warlock and a holy hearted priest they all went to ashenvale to the ill forgoten dungion called BLACK fatome depths of course dagon the hunter had to take a bathroom break and we all got ganked by horde while he was in shadowmeld anyway 2 hours and 41 minutes and 2 seconds later we finaly arrived to the forgoten instance we went and tore through all the monsters like they where silk cloth on a hot day...

then that faitfull day came for bromus THE sword of legends the sword that slayed many hydras the sword that was ill forgoten droped and was at the mists of bromus's hands and yet the foolish hunter was greedy and took the sword from bromus many people from Stormwind all the way to the end peaks of outlands heard him aloud saying to all the hunters "WHY WHY WHY YOU DAMM HUNTERS YOU WILL ALL PERISH UNDER MY SWORD!"

he was so angry that he would go to black fathom deapths every day to slay the hydras and nagas but never to be droped his legendary sword and from that day on he swore never to return to it and yet he was still mad lying in his home in ironforge crying each nite to his demized sleep

When I hit 26 will this be a good sword? I dont know how to rate weapons besides dps. Currently I am using a Reef Axe which is very nice. I must be lucky.

I have made 6 trips through blackfathom deeps and i have yet to get this sword. every time aku'mai has dropped leech pants or whatever. I really want this sword bad. please if anyone could help me go through and get it i would be in your debt and pay you is gold. by the way my name is schwarze im horde and im lvl 27 hunter on Hakkar. =)

Dropped today...YES! first run now i can replace my Sindori Warblade. Any warrior/pallie who gets this i recomend you learn the skill its the best weap for at leats 5 lvls.

I actually was asked to quest with one of my former friends and i heard this sword was good but i didnt know it was in blackfathom deeps at the time Anyways i went to go help and one group person said if its the sowrd she wanted but she died and didnt get back in time and i rolled and got it but lost her as a friends becuz she was pissed but a still a sick sword in the end sorry for this long ass comment

I GOT IT AT LVL 19!

Ive been dilligently lvling so i can use it, After getting 26 and equiping it on my warrior, i average 150 a hit, more with battleshout.. I cannot explain how awesome this sword is.

2 runs 2 drops.....the problem the first time it droped is i got beaten by a paly that rolled 6... over and all its an awesome sword for paladins just did around 500 damge crit with Seal of command at lv 27

I had to make an account just to post here. There are dozens of terrible hunters trying to justify why you don't want this weapon. I played a hunter in vanilla for 5 years. I play a hunter in hardcore classic now. These comments are announcements by these individuals they don't, never have, and never will understood the class they picked.

Hunters DO want this weapon. For several reasons.

PvP you want the slowest 2handed weapon you can acquire to maximize raptor strike damage. You will crit harder than any other class using this weapon and raptor strike. Raptor strike can be given a talent to have a natural 20% crit rate + your natural, so at the minimum, raptor strike has a 25% chance to crit.

Same goes in PvE. All of this min max marksman and beasmaster hunters ARE the bad hunters you are all worried about, multi shotting extra pulls and letting their pet get away from them.

Wing clip can be given a 20% chance to root your target. Save your priests, mages, and friends with this one simple trick. USE YOUR ABILITIES.

DON'T just sit there and plink like a brainless idiot. Run up, use your snare with a root chance, melee in the process, go back to range. Be a hunter who actually knows their class instead of these brainless people commenting on amazing weapons and why you don't want them.

You're tank is not using a 2 hander in most cases. You can support their target with a minor sunder. That alone justifies this on a hunter.

Hunters are THE 2 handed weapon class of WoW. GET this weapon if you have the chance and you will understand WHY.

And go survival. It's the superior talent class and everybody is too fixated on pew pew to even have even bothered to learn that.
